CFR Fall 2010 Academic Conference Call series

On behalf of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), I invite you and your students to participate in the next session of the CFR fall 2010 Academic Conference Call series on Thursday, October 28, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (ET). Sebastian Mallaby, director of CFR’s Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies and the Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics, will discuss his new book, “More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite,” which has been nominated for the 2010 “Financial Times”/Goldman Sachs business book of the year award and is a “New York Times” bestseller. Mr. Mallaby is an experienced journalist and public speaker. He previously worked for the “Washington Post,” where he served as a columnist and editorial board member, and for the “Economist” in London, Africa, Japan, and the United States. Mr. Mallaby is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist: once for editorials on Darfur and once for a series on economic inequality. He was educated at the University of Oxford and graduated in 1986 with a First Class degree in modern history.
In order to encourage an interactive dialogue, we ask that professors convene students in a group to participate. Typically, professors have found it most convenient to gather in a classroom or host a few students in their office around a speaker phone.
