CERC - CESAA National Workshop on the European Union: National and International Perspectives

The Contemporary Europe Research Centre (CERC), in association with the Contemporary European Studies Association of Australia (CESAA), will be holding a National Workshop on Friday 30 May 2008 on The European Union: National and International Perspectives.
The Workshop will consist of three sessions:
* The EU as a Global Actor - this session will address some of the key challenges and opportunities facing the EU and its interlocutors in the short to medium-long term, as well as conceptual debates concerning the EU’s international role.
* New Perspectives on EU-Australia Relations in the 21st Century – this session will examine how the relationship between Australia and the EU has evolved and areas of future cooperation.
* European Studies in Australia - following the first National Workshop on European Studies held in August 2007, this session will work towards establishing initiatives aimed at fostering greater support for scholars working in European Studies in Australia .
Researchers interested in presenting at the workshop should submit an abstract of up to 200 words of the proposed paper to Margherita Matera ([email protected]) by the new extended date: FRIDAY 2 MAY 2008.
